| | | Jeannette Jilderda, age 84, of Sheldon, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, December 2,
2007, at Prairie View Home in Sanborn.
Funeral services will be Thursday, December 6, 2007, at 11:00 A.M. at the Andringa Funeral Home Sheldon Funeral Service in Sheldon.
Officiating will be Rev. Gary Hegstad.
Burial in the East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 5, from noon to 6:00 P.M. with the family present from 3:00 to 4:00 P.M. at the Andringa Funeral Home Sheldon Funeral Services in Sheldon, and Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. prior to the funeral service.
Jeannette Jilderda was born on August 28, 1923, in Orange City, Iowa. She was the daughter of Rink and Aggie (Haarsma) Bergsma. She moved to Sibley, Iowa, as a young child, where she attended school. When she was a teenager she moved to California with her sisters and lived there for a few years. She moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan, where she worked as a nurse’s aid at Bethesda Pine Rest Hospital. She later moved back to Sibley.
She was united in marriage to Mike Jilderda of Sheldon, Iowa, on April 7, 1945, in Sibley. They lived in Sheldon, Iowa and later Ashton, Iowa, where they started Mike’s Plumbing. In 1969, they moved to Sutherland, Iowa, and operated Gamble’s Store for 10 years. They retired in 1980. Mike passed away on July 17, 1998, in Sutherland. Jeannette moved to Sheldon shortly after Mike died.
Jeannette was member of the First Reformed Church in Sanborn, Iowa, for many years.
She enjoyed baking, cooking, canning, crocheting and knitting.
Jeannette passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2007, at the Prairie View Home in Sanborn.
Those left to cherish her memories are one son and daughter-in-law: Richard Michael and Wanda Jilderda of Elk Point, SD; three daughters and sons-in-law: Berdina Jean and Ray E. Vander Naald of Sheldon, IA, Loretta Jane and Eric Ritzenthaler of Virginia Beach, VA, Audrey Joy and Jerrell Mischler of Cross Plains, TN; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters: Francis Verdoorn of Sibley, IA, Clara Vander Plas of Sibley, IA, Lorine Verdoorn of Sanborn, IA.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Mike; one great-granddaughter: Chantel Vander Naald; her parents; one brother: Andrew Bergsma.
