| | | Henrietta Tammes, age 92, of George, Iowa, formerly of Sheldon, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2008, at the Good Samaritan Center in George, Iowa.
Funeral services will be Monday, February 25, 2008, at 11:00 A.M. at the Andringa Funeral Home Sheldon Funeral Service in Sheldon. Rev. Gordon Bloemendaal officiating.
Burial in the East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 24, from 2-4 P.M. with the family present from 2-3 P.M. at the Andringa Funeral Home Sheldon Funeral Service in Sheldon.
Henrietta Tammes was born on March 14, 1915, in Round Lake, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Herman and Effie (Erkes) Tammes. She lived her youth in Round Lake, Minnesota and rural Sheldon, Iowa, where she attended school. After her sister, Alida, passed away, Henrietta went to live with her sister’s husband, Joe Kroese, to help raise his children: Joan, Harvey and Bernita. They later moved to town where Henrietta was a seamstress for many years.
Henrietta was a member of the First Reformed Church in Sheldon, Iowa.
She entered the Good Samaritan Center of George, Iowa, in 2000, where she passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2008.
Those left to cherish her memories are: Joan and husband Jack Idema of Arroyo Grande, CA, and their daughter: Susye; Harvey and wife Alice Kroese of Carmichael, CA, and their children: Stephanie and Jeff; Bernita and husband Art Andringa of Sheldon, IA, and their daughter: Kelly; brother: Earl and wife Dorothy Tammes of LeMars, IA; sister: Evelyn and husband Case Dekkenga of Sheldon, IA; and many other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law: Joe Kroese; three sisters and two brothers.
