| | | Phyllis Monier, age 79, of Sibley, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2008, at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley.
Memorial services will be Monday, December 1, 2008, at 11:00 A.M. at the United Church of Christ Congregational in Sibley. Rev. Larry Laskie officiating.
Visitation will be prior to the Memorial Service from 9:30 to 11:00 A.M. on Monday, December 1, at the United Church of Christ Congregational.
Phyllis Monier was born on September 27, 1929, in Sioux City, Iowa. She was the daughter of Madison Lou and Eva (Attig) Baldwin. She lived her youth in the Sibley area, where she attended school and graduated from high school.
She was united in marriage to Jerome “Curly” Monier of Sibley, Iowa, on May 12, 1951, in Jackson, Minnesota. They lived in Sibley.
Phyllis enjoyed reading, gardening, quilting for the grandkids and baking, especially making fudge rounds for the grandkids. She also liked to play Solitaire and Bridge. She enjoyed the wildlife around the farm and watching and naming birds by sight and or sound. She liked to go on day trips. She was a Boy Scout Troop Mother for many years.
She passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2008, at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley.
Those left to cherish her memories are her husband: Jerome “Curly” Monier of Sibley, IA; her son and daughter-in-law: Kelly and Lori Monier of Sibley, IA; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren: Sarah and Tony Olson of Huron, SD, and their children: Hunter, Ethan, Michael, and Matthew; Jeffrey Monier of Sibley, IA, and his children: Trystan and Ella; Cole Monier of Sibley, IA; one brother and sister-in-law: Harold and Shirley Baldwin of Marshalltown, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters: Alice Pierce, Leta Morfit, and Lillian Naab; two brothers: Roger Baldwin and Gerald Baldwin.
