| | | Clifford Willemssen, age 83, of Sibley, Iowa, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2009, at the Ocseola Community Hospital in Sibley.
Funeral Services will be Friday, November 6, 2009, at 10:30 A.M. at the First Presbyterian Church in Sibley. Rev. Terry Simm officiating.
Burial in the Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 5, from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Andringa Funeral Home of Sibley.
Clifford Willemssen was born on April 19, 1926, in Ashton, Iowa. He was the son of Harry and Irene (Wietzema) Willemssen. He lived his youth in Osceola County, and attended a country school in rural Ashton, Iowa.
He was united in marriage to Ruth Johnson of Sibley, Iowa, on June 25, 1948, in Sibley. They lived in rural Sibley, where they farmed until 1994, when they retired. In 1998, they moved to Sibley. Ruth passed away on August 19, 2009.
Clifford and Ruth enjoyed fishing, camping, bowling, and going on rides around the countryside on Sunday afternoons. Everything involved the family. They were very generous with their love and time for their kids and grandkids. They would do anything for their family, and showed them a lot of love.
Clifford enjoyed playing the accordion and listening to Polka music.
He passed away on Monday, November 2, 2009, at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley.
Those left to cherish his memories are two sons: Ron Willemssen and special friend Barb Roth of Sibley, IA, Randy and wife Deb Willemssen of Ocheyedan, IA; daughter: Wanda and husband Gene Snuttjer of Sioux City, IA; daughter-in-law: Sharon Willemssen of Sibley, IA; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one sister: June Hartwig of Melvin, IA.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth; his parents; son: Steve Willemssen; grandson: Bradley Willemssen; great-grandson: Logun Moeller.
