The modern practice of cremation dates back to the middle of the 19th century.  Yet throughout history, many cultures have chosen cremation as a method of caring for the dead.  In fact, cremation is still a time honored tradition in many European and eastern countries.  Today, in the United States, individuals are choosing cremation as an alternative to earth burial or entombment of a casketed body.

As cremation is an alternative to other forms of final disposition, you may still choose from several different types of funeral services. Examples are listed below.

Full Cremation Service Package:

The services of the funeral director and staff, transfer from the place of death to the funeral home, preparation of the deceased for viewing, use of the facility for the visitation and or funeral service or coordination and direction of the funeral ceremony at the church or another location, a hearse and limousine for the morning of the funeral, register book, memorial folders, acknowledgement cards.

Also available:

  • Public or private visitation with a Memorial Service to follow and an optional graveside service
  • Private viewing with an optional graveside service
  • Memorial gathering with body present with an optional graveside service
  • Cremation followed by a graveside service
  • A direct cremation without rites or ceremony
  • The scattering of cremains at sea
  • Visitation 1 hour prior to church or funeral home chapel service
