| | | REVERE-Miss Beatrice R. Furlong, age 94 years, died on Sunday morning at the Lighthouse Nursing Care Center.
Born in Boston and raised in Orient Heights, she was the daughter of the late Michael J. and Mary (Aratto) Furlong. She was a graduate of Revere High School and business college. During Miss Furlong’s more than 30 year career at Suffolk Downs she rose to the position of Executive Secretary and was known by the racing community as “Miss Suffolk Downs.”
She is survived by one sister; Margaret F. White of Revere, one brother Robert Furlong of Revere and many loving nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Thomas Furlong.
The family would like to thank the 3rd Floor staff at Lighthouse Nursing Care Center & Guardian Hospice for their wonderful work. In lieu of flowers donations in Bea’s memory may be made to Guardian Hospice of MA, 1214 Park St., Suite 203, Stoughton, MA 02072.
SERVICE INFORMATION
A funeral will be held from the Porcella Funeral Home, 876 Winthrop Ave., (Beachmont) Revere on Thursday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Anthony’s Church, 250 Revere St., Revere at 10 a.m. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Wednesday 5-8p.m. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett
