Mrs. Florence (Bishop) Rees, age 94, of Saugus, died Thursday at Winchester Hospital in Winchester. She was the beloved wife of the late Colin Arthur Rees. Born in Amherst, Nova Scotia, and raised in Malden, she was the daughter of the late Aubrey & Catherine (Cameron) Bishop, and lived in Saugus since 1940.
Mrs. Rees was very active in the former Cliftondale United Methodist Church, organizing many church suppers & collations. She enjoyed making crafts for family, friends & church fairs. Her family came first in her life & her greatest enjoyment was spending time with them at home and at their summer place in Northwood, NH.
She is survived by one son, Arthur Rees Jr. of Northwood, NH; three daughters, Virginia Price, Beverly Snowdon, Judy Wood all of Saugus; her sister in-law, Marion Bishop of Saugus; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Ralph Bishop, George Bishop, Randall Bishop and one sister, Helen Dunlea.
Funeral Services will be held at the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, 549 Lincoln Ave., SAUGUS, Tuesday at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Monday from 4-8 p.m. Interment Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, W. Peabody.
