Donald Wayne Taylor, 55, of Elkview, entered into rest Wednesday, September 30, 2009, at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, WV.
Born April 6, 1954 in Eldorado, Illinois, he was the son of the late George J. and Norma M. Phelps Taylor. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Stephanie Louise Pettry and a sister, Sharon June Taylor.
Donald was a welder for Cook Welding in Winfield, a US Air Force Veteran and a member of the Reamer Gospel Tabernacle, Clendenin.
Survivors include his children, Nathan Allen Taylor of Elkview, Stacey Michelle (Ronald) Moore of Big Chimney; brothers, Rex Dean Taylor and Tracy Taylor, both of Elkview; sisters, Jeanie Taylor of Elkview, Judy (Conard) Summerfield of Nitro and Donna (Eddie) Stonestreet of Sissonville; grandchildren, Taylan Crowder, Maxwell Moore, and Trey Pettry.
The family would like to thank Dr. Nicholas Cassis Jr. MD, for more than 26 years of care and devotion to our father and brother.
Funeral service will be 7:30 p.m. Friday, October 2, 2009 at Poca Fork Baptist Church, Frame Road, Elkview with Minister Daniel McClung officiating.
Friends may call from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m at the Church.
Graveside service will be 2:00 pm Sunday, October 4, 2009 at the Douglas Cemetery, Eldorado, Illinois.
