Virginia Lee Jarvis, 97, of Ivydale, entered into rest Thursday, October 8, 2009, at Braxton County Memorial Hospital.
Born on August 14, 1912, in Ivydale, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary V. Chapman. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Filbert C. Jarvis.
She was a member of Big Otter Baptist Church, the Golden Age Club, and worked as a nursing assistant for CAMC-General Division.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Patrick and Carol Jarvis of Courtland, VA and Edsel and Billie Jarvis of Charleston; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Carl Baker of Ivydale; 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 5 step-great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and 1 step-great-great-grandchild.
Funeral service will be 2 pm Sunday October 11, 2009, at Wilson-Shamblin-Smith Funeral Home, Clay, with Minister John Cole officiating. Burial will follow in the Boggs Cemetery, Mt. Home Road, Ivydale.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
