Robert Wilton Boggs, 82, of Maysel, died August 25, 2008, at Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Ivydale.
Born on July 4, 1926, in Clay County, he was the son of the late Henry Crawford and Nellie Myrtle Boggs. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Mark Charles Boggs, and three brothers, Ray, Ernie, and Garrett.
He was a retired construction worker from H. L. Gentry Pipeline, and an Army veteran, having served in Germany. He was a member of the American Legion, and the Clay VFW Post 4419.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Robert H. and Susan Boggs of Columbiana, OH, David Allen and Jennifer Boggs of Orlando, FL, and Danny Ray and Sandy Boggs of Salem, OH; daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie and Russ Whaling of Salem, OH; Karen Boggs of Salem, OH, Deborah and Chuck Kelley of Youngstown, OH, Sandy Lindsey and companion, Rick, of Columbiana, OH; and Mary Boggs of Leetonia, OH; brother, Harvey H. Boggs of Maysel; sisters and brothers-in-law, Hazel Davis of Franklin, NC, Helen and Dan Berkshire of Wheeling, IL, Hallie Johnson of Wallback, and Sue and Telford Cruikshank of Big Otter, WV; mother of his children, Mary Elizabeth Boggs of Salem, OH; sisters-in-law, Marlies McDonald of Tujunga, CA, Audrey Boggs of Schofield, WS, Connie Boggs of Clendenin, WV; 18 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 1 pm Thursday, August 28, 2008, at Wilson-Shamblin-Smith Funeral Home, Clay, with Minister Ralph Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Moore Cemetery, Wallback, with military graveside rites conducted by Clay VFW Post 4419.
