| | | Cathryn Melissa “Catty” (Nelson) Barger,76,of Wallback entered into rest, Monday, March 16, 2009 at her home.
Born May 28, 1932 in Clay Co, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Chessie (Mullins) Nelson. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband John Barger, daughter Deana Cheryl Thorne, brother Virgil Nelson, sister Madeline Adams.
Catty was a retired beautician.
She is survived by her sons Herman Howard Thorne of Ivydale, Gregory B. (Sheila)
Thorne of Valley Fork, daughter-in-law Sharon Thorne, brothers Jerry Nelson of Clay, Byrl Nelson of Brunswick, OH., sisters Reva Snodgrass of Spencer, Dorothy Keener of Clay, Glada Lanham of Clay, Merle Bailey of Spencer, Nancy Lambey of Wilkesboro, NC, grandchildren Tony Howard Thorne, Brandi Shae McKinney, Bruce Allen Thorne, Tiffany Nicole Thorne, Jennifer Renee Thorne, great-grandchildren Slade Thorne, Destiny Thorne, Kashaela McKinney and Corey McKinney.
Graveside service will be held 10 am Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at Nelson Cemetery, Clay, with Minister Darius Arnold officiating. Wilson-Shamblin-Smith Funeral Home, Clay, is in charge of arrangements.
