| | | Paul Lee Bird Sr. 75, of Mt Nebo, WV entered into rest Wednesday, April 15, 2009.
Born July 20, 1933 in Clay County, he was the son of the late Estell and Mary Ramsey Bird. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Goldie Stone Bird, sons Matthew Bird and Douglas Stone.
He was a retired Coal Miner and an Army Veteran, an avid outdoorsman, farmer and loved being with his family.
Paul is survived by his sons Paul Lee Bird II of Edwardsville, Il., Daniel A. Bird of Elyria, OH., James Stone of Summersville, Teddy Stone of Clay, daughters Anita Schultz of Vermilion, Oh., Sandra Morris of Summersville, Deborah Hobbs of Cannelton, Catherine Johnson of Ansted, Ruby Workman of Clearwater, Fl., 17 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Graveside service and burial will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 18, 2009, at Bird Sanctuary 1159 Bruce Rd, Mt. Nebo, WV., with Minister Arnold Nicholas officiating.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Wilson-Shamblin-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Clay, and one hour prior to the Graveside service at the cemetery.
