Alice Faye Adkins, 62, of Clay, entered into rest Thursday, July 9, 2009, at home.
Born on May 15, 1947, in Harrison, she was the daughter of the late Roscoe and Vida Taylor. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Barnett.
She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Dale Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Roy David Adkins of Clay; sons and daughter-in-law, Chris Allen Sr. and Trina Adkins of Clay and Dana James Adkins of Indore; daughter and son-in-law, Virginia Ann and Jerry Johnson of Clay; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dennis and Patty Taylor of Birch River and Kenneth and Bunny Taylor of Dille; sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen Atkinson of Kentucky, Genevie Selby of Campbells Creek, Hester McKinney of Widen, Nettie Jean and Albert Salisbury of North Carolina, Hettie Mable Jarvis of Ohio, and Ora and Mack Hamrick of Clay; grandchildren, Katrina, Chris Jr., Cody, Khloe, Samantha and Megan.
Funeral service will be 2 pm Sunday, July 12, 2009, at Wilson-Shamblin-Smith Funeral Home, Clay, with Ministers Wayne Litton and Kenneth Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Adkins Cemetery, Enoch.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm on Saturday at the funeral home.
