Muriel D. Bledsoe, 76, of Charleston, went home to be with the Lord and her husband of 57 years, Lloyd, on Monday, February 20, 2006.
Born on June 15, 1929, in Clay County, she was the daughter of the late John and Myrtle Douglas.
She was a homemaker and a Methodist.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Randall and Yolly Bledsoe of Virginia Beach, VA, and John and Kim Bledsoe of Elkview; daughters, Benda Helmick of Charleston, and Mona Chastain of South Charleston; brothers, Johnny and Jim Douglas, both of Ivydale, Woodrow Douglas of Lansing, MI, and Ralph Douglas of OH; sisters, Ruth Salisbury of Ivydale, and Barbara Boggs of Big Otter; grandchildren, Christopher Bledsoe of Virginia Beach, VA, Kathleen Stone of Anaheim, CA, and Haley of Elkview; great-grandchildren, Blake and Ben Bledsoe of Virginia Beach, VA.
A special thanks to Ruth Burnside for her loving and tender care.
Funeral service will be l pm Friday, February 24, 2006, at Carl Wilson Funeral Home, Clay, with Minister Wilma Dobbins officiating. Burial will follow in the Douglas Cemetery, Ivydale. A dinner will be served at the Ivydale Methodist Church following the funeral service.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
