Herman Wayne Bridgman, age 77, of Oppelo, Arkansas, passed away Friday, September 4, 2009. He was born December 1, 1931, in Solgohachia, Arkansas, a son of Willis Andrew Bridgman and Ina Belle Fryer Bridgman. He was a member of the Morrilton First Baptist Church. He retired from the Air Force in 1971. He attended the Naval Advanced Pharmacy School in Bethesda, Maryland and served as a Pharmacy Technician at Air Force Bases in Texas, Oklahoma and California, as well as two tours in Scotland.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Ann Teague Bridgman of Oppelo; two brothers, Sherman Bridgman and wife Dorothy of Conway, and Willis J. Bridgman of Overcup; sisters, Betty Swope of Solgohachia, Sandra Stephens and husband Davis, Verna O’Neal and husband Wayland, and Linda Hague and husband Gordon all of Hot Springs Village; two sisters-in-law, Jessie Ruth Bridgman and Bernice Kersten. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Thurman Bridgman.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2009, at the Harris Chapel with Dr. Bill Brown officiating. Burial will be at Friendship Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, September 7, at the funeral home.
