L. H. “Hank” Burgin, age 81 of Perryville passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2009. Born August 20, 1928 in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Roy Egbert and Elsie A. (Graddy) Burgin. Hank served in the US Air Force and US Air Force Air National Guard serving over 20 years until his retirement in 1988. He also served as a retired Arkansas State Trooper with the Arkansas State Police and served as Perry County Coroner for many years. Hank was a member of the Perryville Church of Christ and a member of the Civil Air Patrol Association. He received his private pilot’s license and loved flying. Hank was a Ham Radio Operator, 49 year member of the American Radio Relay League and a member of the Perryville Masonic Lodge for over 40 years.

Survivors include his sons, David Burgin and wife Debbie of Morrilton; Danny Burgin of Hot Springs; three daughters, Donna Freeman and husband Milton of Bigelow; Deborah White and husband Richard of Montgomery, Louisiana; Denise Leadingham and husband David of Perryville; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Hank was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Wanda Lee Burgin and his grandson, Ethan Burgin.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 5 at Perryville Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. The Arkansas State Police Honor Guard will serve as pallbearers and perform military rites. Grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday at the Harris Funeral Home in Morrilton.
