Lavina Eversman, 76, of Ohio County, IN, passed away at 4:40 AM, Tuesday, May 8th, at her residence. Lavina was born in Franklin County, IN on April 26, 1936, a daughter of the late Frona (St. John) and John Griffin. She was a homemaker and had worked at IGA in Connersville, IN , as a bus driver for Fair Acres and the Shoe Factory in Harrison. Lavina was a faithful member of Hope Baptist Church in Dillsboro, IN.On May 4, 1996 she married Carl Eversman who survives her and lovingly cared for her during her illness. Lavina was always smiling and loved to cook and read. Spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren was something she loved to do.

In addition to her husband Carl, Lavina is also survived by a daughter, Rita Claxton, of Hamilton, OH; three sons Garry Childress, of Hamilton, OH; James Childress, of New Castle, IN; Bill (Elizabeth) Childress, of Hamilton, OH; by 7 grandchildren and by 5 great grandchildren; a sister, Grace (Robert) Browning, of Rising Sun, IN; a brother, Dean (Carolyn) Griffin, of Pleasant, IN; by step children, Gary Eversman (Naomi) of Ohio County, IN; Ken Eversman (Cheryl) of Dillsboro, IN; Allen Eversman of Dillsboro, IN and by 5 step grandchildren and 6 step great grandchildren. Lavina was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Judy Cameron and by brothers, Tom, Abe, and & Jim Griffin.

Funeral Service at Hope Baptist Church, Dillsboro, IN , at 9:00 AM on Saturday, May 12th, 2012. Friends are invited to call Friday 5-8 PM. at Markland Funeral Home, Rising Sun, IN. Interment will be at Riverview Cemetery, Aurora IN. Memorial donations may be made to the family for funeral expense.
