Thelma Mae Reavis, 92, of Vevay, IN, passed away at 7:00 PM, Monday, June 11th, at her residence with her caregivers by her side. Thelma was born in New Castle, IN on May 1, 1920, a daughter of the late Florence Lucille (Adams) and Howard Emanuel Cross. She graduated from high school in New Castle, IN and attended business school for two years. She worked for an attorney in New Castle prior to her marriage. In 1940 she married Marion Dudley Reavis who passed away in 1980 after 40 years of marriage. Thelma helped her husband with whatever needed to be done at their business, the McFerran-Kane Company, Inc., a flooring sub contractor. Thelma loved flowers and her dogs which she treated like they were her children. She did not get a drivers license until she was 50 years old and she loved the freedom it gave her. Thelma took meticulous care of her car and home. When she was able, Thelma attended the Concord Community Church in Patriot, IN where her son-in-law Stephen Ward is Pastor. Thelma's faith was what stood out about her the most. She studied the Bible at great length and could quote scripture as well as anyone. Her faith shone brightest the last year of her life when she endured suffering that would make others question their faith, but hers never faltered. Now she receives the reward she deserves and her life on earth can be a testament to those left behind.

Thelma is survived by a daughter, Sharon Kay Ward (Stephen), of Vevay, IN; by grandchildren; Allison Melissa Markland (Joey), Rising Sun, IN, Jonathan Pace Schilling (Christina), Phoenix, AZ, Joshua Halston Rose (Tasha), Vevay, IN, Adam Reavis Rose(Anne),Versailles, IN; Matthew & Sherry Reavis of New Castle, IN; Step-Grandchildren; Heather Stafford (Steven), Bedford, IN, & Joel Stephen Ward, New York, NY; great grandchildren; Beth Marie, Hannah Jane & Samuel Alan Markland, Sarah & Thomas Schilling, Gabriel, Ethan & Adalie Rose, Emma & Katherine Stafford & Emily Campbell; a brother, Howard Cross, Jr., of Erie, PA; by nieces, Marjorie, Jane, Coleen, & Carol , by nephews, Joe, Mike, Tom, & John.
