| | | Dorothy F. Wheeler, 83 of Chesapeake, formerly of Narrows went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 2nd, 2009 at Chesapeake Health and Rehab Center.
She was born in Pearisburg on May 17th, 1926 and was the daughter of the late Edward Everette Ferrell and Eula Shrader Hamilton Ferrell. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Mason Wheeler; two daughters, Betty Lou Wheeler and Bonnie Sue Wheeler, twins who died shortly after birth; and a brother, William Edward Ferrell.
Dorothy moved to Chesapeake following a serious illness and spent the remainder of her life there near her family.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Donnie Ray Wheeler and wife Marilyn of Chesapeake; two grandchildren, Sean Christopher Wheeler and Dawn Ann Bradley; and four great grandchildren, Ali Wheeler, Zoe Wheeler, Gabriel Bradley and Mason Bradley.
Dorothy always loved the mountains where she was born and raised and expressed her wish to return there as her final resting place. She is, therefore, being buried near her first husband and her daughters in the Ferrell Family Cemetery.
A graveside service will be held Friday, November 6th, 2009 at 11 AM in the Ferrell Family Cemetery with Donnie Wheeler officiating. The family will receive friends at Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows Thursday from 6 to 8 PM.
