| | | Services for Billie Ann Thomas, 76, ,of Lubbock, TX, were held at 11:00 am Friday, September 4, 2009, in the Abernathy First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jimmy Nunn and Rev. Keith Wiseman officiating.
Burial followed in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX.
Mrs. Thomas died Tuesday, September 1, 2009, in Lubbock, TX.
She was born October 20, 1932 in Lubbock, TX to Theodore Roosevelt and Hazel Lorene (Johnston) Watts. She graduated from Abernathy High School and attended Texas Tech University. She married Harold Wright Thomas on July 11, 1953 in Abernathy. She had worked in nursing homes since 1978 and was the activity director at Bender Terrace in Lubbock for the past 18 years.
She is survived by her husband, Harold of Lubbock, TX, a son, David Thomas of Abernathy, TX, a daughter, Debra Thomas of McKinney, TX, one brother, Ted Watts and his wife Neta of Lubbock, TX, 5 nephews and 5 neices.
The family suggests memorials be sent to the Abernathy Cemetery or the American Cancer Society.
