Services for Faye Bufe, 82, of Hale Center, TX, were held at 2:00 pm Monday, in the Abernathy Church of Christ with Steve Gauntt and David Bennett officiating. Burial followed in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX.
Mrs. Bufe died Friday, October 9, 2009, in Lubbock, TX.
She was born January 15, 1927 in Olney, TXand married Wilford Bufe on February 5, 1944 in New Deal, TX. They moved their family to Hale County in 1951 from the New Deal area. She was a member of the Hale Center Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by a brother, Travis Jennings and a granddaughter, Lori Bufe on August 30, 2009.
She is survived by her husband, Wilford Bufe of Hale Center, TX, 2 sons, Howard Bufe of Dallas, TX, and Harold Bufe and wife Linda of Abernathy, TX, 2 grandchildren, Cheri Liess and husband Jake and Ryan Bufe and wife Ashley, TX and 3 great grandchildren, Taelor & Addison Liess and Brock Bufe all of Abernathy, TX.
The family suggests memorials be sent to the Children's Home of Lubbock, P. O. Box 2824, Lubbock, TX 79408 or to the Hope Lodge of Lubbock, c/o American Cancer Society, 3411 73rd Street, Lubbock, TX 79423.
