Tanda Carol Colwell Trussell, 52, died on October 10, 2009, in Plano, TX, at The Medical Center of Plano. She was born December 24, 1956, in Lubbock, TX, to Quinton T. and Vicki Colwell. She married Danny L. Trussell on July 23, 1978.
She received her B.S. in Elementary Education from Texas Tech University in 1979 and later taught first grade at West Texas Elementary School for 17 and a half years.
She is survived by her husband, Danny L. Trussell of Plano, TX; three daughters, Lisa M. of Wilmore, KY, Lori A. of Denver, CO, and Jennifer N. of Tulsa, OK; her mother, Vicki Colwell; two brothers, Kim K. Colwell of Lubbock, TX, and Ron K. Colwell of Friona, TX, and her sister, Rene’ K. Colwell, also of Lubbock.
Viewing was held at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home, McKinney, TX, on Monday, October 12, from 6-8 pm. Memorial service were held at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 44th & Memphis in Lubbock, TX, on Thursday, October 15, at 2 pm. A viewing preceded that service at 12 pm. Graveside services followed immediately after the memorial service at Resthaven Cemetery. These services were under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Abernathy, Texas.
