James W. "Jim" Meng, Jr. Licensed Funeral Director/Owner Jim started his employment with Anderson-Poindexter Funeral Homes and Ambulance Service in 1974, while he was a high school senior. After college graduation from Vincennes University, he received his Indiana Embalmers License in 1978, and then in 1979 received his Indiana Funeral Directors License at 21 years of age.
In 1988, he studied and received his Indiana Life Insurance license in which he uses to pre-need, or assist with life insurance for individuals that are pre-planning funerals or are in need of securing or sheltering monies for their final expense while living in a health care facility for an extended time.
In May 2008, he received his (30) thirty continued years of service pin as a licensed Embalmer/Funeral Director in the State of Indiana. Jim is proud to be called a Funeral Director.
He attends Linton First Christian Church and is involved with many service and fraternal organizations, such as Linton Civitan (Past President), Elks, Rotary (Past President), FOP, Sons of the American Legion Post #22, Switz City Masonic Lodge #676 F & AM, NRA, Crime Stoppers, Sandborn Lions Club and Indiana Funeral Directors Association where he has served as District 6 Director since 2005. He also serves as a board member for the Linton-Stockton Chamber of Commerce.
He is married to Bette (Denman) and they have two children, daughter; Jenna (Meng) Brown & husband Nathan, son; Bryant and two granddaughters, Neely JoAnne and Corinna Jolee.

Jeff started his career in funeral service in 1991, employed with Gordon Utt Funeral Homes in Oaktown and Freelandville, IN. Jeff graduated with honors from Vincennes University in 1993, and received his Indiana Funeral Directors License later that same year. Jeff joined the staff at Anderson-Poindexter in fall of 2009. Born and raised in Sandborn, he spent a lot of his time here in Greene County. In the late seventies he worked for some of Lintons local businesses. Jeff spent a few years working in the coal industry in Kentucky and Illinois. He married Dolly (McDonald),and now resides with his wife here in Linton. He is the father of one son, James Gentry, of Sandborn, three step-children; Danielle Goodman, Dyan Wilkes and Adam Baughman. Jeff is a lifelong member of the Salem United Church of Christ in Westphalia, IN. and longtime member of the Order of Elks. Jeff enjoys time with his wife and family, trips his motorcycle, playing the guitar with friends, and is honored to be working with staff at Anderson-Poindexter.
| Roger R. Blackwell Family Service Assistant Roger began working here at the funeral home back in the early 1960's before other employment in Bloomington, IN. After retirement from that position, he came back to work with Anderson-Poindexter in 1999 on part time basis. Roger resides in Sandborn where he is a member of the Sandborn Baptist Church, Lions Club and the Edwardsport Masonic Lodge. He is married to Nancy (McKee) and has three children (Lori, Wendy and Ryan) and six grandchildren. He enjoys fishing, camping and playing euchre at the Bluejay Junction with his buddies.
| Robert "Bob" Thuis Family Service Assistant Bob came to Anderson-Poindexter in the fall of 2005 and is working part time as a funeral director assistant and as our maintenance person. You might recognize him as being the former UPS man, as he delivered in this area for the past 35 years before retiring from that position. Bob is married to Melody (Sanders) where they have two sons Stacy, Brock, daughter-in-law Jerrie and their three beautiful granddaughters Taylor, Aliyah and Taryn. He is a member of the Masonic Lodge.
| Bette Meng Bookkeeper Bette's maiden name is Denman and she is a life-long resident of Linton. She graduated from Linton-Stockton High School. Bette is an Indiana licensed insurance agent, holding property and casualty, as well as life and health certificates. She started work with Anderson-Poindexter in 2005 when the family purchased the funeral home. Bette also works at Linton-Stockton High School as a secretary in the guidance and athletic offices. She attends Linton First Christian Church and is a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Linton Civitan Club, and the Linton American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoys working in the yard and taking care of her granddaughters and believes there is no such thing as extra time.
| Karla English Secretary Karla's maiden name is McDonald. She was raised in Dugger and graduated from Blessed Hope Baptist School in Jasonville. Karla is married to Bill English and they reside in Dugger. They have 3 daughters: Elizabeth English, Abigail (Ryan) Tharp and Katelyn English. Karla is an active member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church in Jasonville where she is a Sunday School teacher. She enjoys reading, sewing and cooking. Karla joined the staff at Anderson-Poindexter in October 2012.
| Bryant L. Meng Family Service Assistant Bryant began working for Anderson-Poindexter in 2005. He is a graduate of Linton-Stockton High School class of 2007. He attended Vincennes University receiving an AS dregree Business Management and Diesel Mechanics. He is currently seeking employment in one of these fields while assisting with funeral services. He is a member the BPO Elks 866.
| Adam Rose Intern/Family Service Assistant Adam began working for Anderson-Poindexter in August of 2008. He graduated from Linton-Stockton High School in 2009. Adam attended Vincennes University receiving an AS degree in Funeral Service Education graduating in 2011. He has completed his National Boards and is now working as an intern. He is a member of the Sandborn Lions Club and a member of the Faith Tabernacle Church in Linton.
| Doris Thornton Musician Organist/Pianist Doris has played the organ for Anderson-Poindexter Funeral Home for several years. Organ playing is almost a lost art as many churchs and auditoriums have removed them. We have fewer families requesting an organist for their services than before, but when the need arises, Doris is always there to fill the position. Doris was married to the late Keith Thornton for many years and they have one son Michael, wife (Tamyra) and one grandson Shane. Doris is very active in her church at Linton First Baptist as their organist.
| Trent Wilkes Intern/Family Service Assistant Trent began his part time employment with Anderson-Poindexter in August 2012. He attends Linton-Stockton High School where he is a senior, a percussionist and secretary of the High School Band. He is president of the LHS Business Club and Jr. Civitan. Trent also serves as Governor for the North Central District of Jr. Civitan. Trent enjoys traveling, camping, and spending time with his friends and family. He also enjoys operating his own part time concession business and working for his friends Max and Harriet Morin at Dotties Cinnamon Rolls during the summer months. Trent is planning to attend Vincennes University in fall of 2013 to receive a degree in Funeral Service Education.
