| | | Caroline Brink, age 84, of Sheldon, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2007, at the Prairie View Home in Sanborn.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 18, at 10:30 A.M. at Immanuel Christian Reformed Church in Sheldon. Rev. Kevin Muyskens officiating.
Burial in the East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon.
Visitation will be Monday, December 17, 2007, from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. at the Andringa Funeral Home Sheldon Funeral Service in Sheldon.
Caroline Brink was born on September 2, 1923, in Bejou, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Koert and Jacoba (De Vries) Evink. Her father was an immigrant from the Netherlands. She lived her youth in Minnesota and attended Consolidated Schools in Bejou. She graduated from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where she received her teaching degree.
She was united in marriage to Dale Milford Brink of Edgerton, Minnesota, on October 2, 1947, in Hancock, Minnesota. They lived in Edgerton and Orange City, Iowa, and in 1963, they moved to Sheldon, Iowa, where Caroline was a devoted teacher. In 1978, they moved to Lynden, Washington, due to Dale’s health. Dale passed away on December 2, 1980. Caroline moved back to Sheldon, where she continued to teach. She retired from teaching in the early 1990’s. She touched many children’s lives in her 31 years of teaching in Christian schools. Caroline continued to live in Sheldon, where she worked with investment properties.
She was a member of Immanuel Christian Reformed Church in Sheldon, where she was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the Sunshine Circle.
Caroline also was a member of Parent Teachers Association and the Foster Grandparents Program.
She enjoyed woodworking, quilting, sewing, and was a self-taught piano player. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Caroline passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2007, at the Prairie View Home in Sanborn, Iowa.
Those left to cherish her memories are her son and daughter-in-law: Paul and Teresa Brink of Olathe, KS, and their children: Keith Brink, Jesse Brink, Trisha Brink, Neil and Jennifer Wilson, Tim and Melissa Baldwin; her daughter and son-in-law: Diane and Glen Rolofson of Greenwood, NE, and their children: Kylee Rolofson, Adam and Tiphani Rolofson; great-grandchildren: Elizabeth, Austin, Lindsey, Faith, Mia, Patience and Kelsey; four brothers: Ken and Audrey Evink of Hancock, MN, Bernard and Kathy Evink of Allendale, MI, Lowell and Carol Evink of Hancock, MN, Harold and Clair Evink of Park Rapids, MN; one sister: Margaret Vander Plaats of Hancock, MN.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Dale; her grandson: Cory Rolofson; her parents; four sisters: Rena, Wilma, Joyce, Corrine; two brothers: Conrad, Wallace.
