| | | Funeral services for Ruth Willemssen of Sibley will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday August 22,2009 at the First Presbyterian Church in Sibley with interment following in the Holman Township Cemetery at Sibley.
Visitation will be from 3-8 pm on Friday with the family present from 6-8 pm at the Andringa Funeral Home in Sibley.
Ruth Willemssen, was born on May 10, 1929 near Jackson, Nebraska the daughter of Harry and Helen (Sundt) Johnson. She spent her first seven years of life near Jackson, before moving with her family to a farm near Sibley, Iowa. She attended and graduated from Sibley High School.
She was united in marriage with Clifford Willemssen on June 25, 1948 in Sibley and to this union four children were born. The family lived on a farm near Sibley. She worked for the Sibley Egg & Poultry Company for a few years then she began working at the local ASCS office where she continued to work for more than 28 years.
Ruth enjoyed sewing, gardening, dancing, and she was the author of several poems. She truly enjoyed spending time with her loving family and was always available to lend a helping hand to all.
Ruth is survived by her husband Clifford,twosons; Randy(Deb) of Ocheyedan,and Ronald and his special friend Barb Roth of Sibley. Her daugter Wanda Suttjer( Gene) of Sioux City, 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren,one brother Dave Johnson(Nellie) of Worthington, Mn.and her daughter-in-law Sharon Willermssen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Steve, grandson Bradley Steven Willemssen, great-grandson Logan Moeller,one brother Donald and one sister Dorothy Houwen.
