Thelma C. Beetley, 91, Chapa Drive, died at 12:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008 at Silver Oaks Health Campus.
Mrs. Beetley was a sales clerk at the former Quality Surplus and was a foster grandparent at Fodrea Elementary School. She was a faithful member of Memorial Baptist Church where she enjoyed all activities. She loved her family and enjoyed sewing, reading and cooking
A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Chuck Siegel officiating. Family and friends may call from 2 p.m. until service time Sunday. Inurnment will be at a later date at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Orlando, Florida.
Memorials contributions may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana or the Foster Grandparent Program at the Bartholomew County School Corp.

Born in Lynn, IN, Oct. 1, 1916, Mrs. Beetley was the daughter of Harrison and Ethel Chamness Hill. She married Byron T. Beetley Sept. 1, 1934.
Survivors include her daughter, Leslie (Don) Spires of Brunswick, GA; grandchildren, David (Cheryl) Spires, Cheryl Bryzgornia and Cathy Spires, all of Brunswick; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Taylor, Amanda, John-Austin, Sarah and Bella; a brother, Robert (Doris) Hill of Union City; nephews, John M. (DeAnna D.) Gamroth of Columbus, David (Sandy) Pitts and Barry (Carol) Pitts, both of Seattle, WA; nieces, Debbie (Dick) Siegel and Jenny (Farrell) Phegley, both of Columbus and Anita (Steve) Brown of Jacksonville, FL and many great-nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Beetley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Dec. 17, 1964; a sister, Dorothy Pitts and a brother, Denzil Hill.
