| | | Jacob K. Battin, 24, of Caldwell Place died Friday, December 19, 2008, at 3:40 p.m. at the Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Jacob was formerly employed at Stephens Honda-Hyundai in Bloomington as a Finance Director and was a member of Parkside Baptist Church.
The funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Parkside Baptist Church with Dr. William E. Bailey officiating. Calling will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Parkside Baptist Church and 12:30 p.m. to time of service Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at Flatrock Baptist Cemetery.
Arrangements were made by Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Jacob Battin memorial fund at any Irwin Union Bank.

Jacob was born in Columbus December 24, 1983, the son of William F. and Nancy J. Christian Battin.
Survivors include his parents of Columbus; brothers Bradley (Melissa) Battin of Indianapolis, Christopher (Cherri) Battin of Columbus and Tyler Battin of Columbus; grandparents Martha Poer of Columbus, Edward (June) Christian of Alabama and Beulah “Boots” (Bill) Dowden of Columbus.
Jacob was preceded in death by his grandfathers William H. Battin and Harold Poer.
