| | | Darlene N. Bathory, 43, of Columbus died Monday, June 29, 2009, at her home.
A 1984 graduate of Columbus East High School , Darlene was an insurance agent at Miller-Hawes-Phelan Insurance Group Inc.
She was a member of Bartholomew County Humane Society and she loved her children, animals and music.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Stanley Hicks officiating. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from noon until service time Friday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made to Bartholomew County Humane Society.

Born in Princeton, KY, February 6, 1966, Darlene was the daughter of Charles K. and Judie A. Hill Garland. She married Lajos M. Bathory August 25, 1995.
Survivors include her husband; her father, Charles K. Garland of Columbus; children, Ashley E. and Liam B. Bathory both at home; sisters, Melinda Dawn Hawkins, Alycia (Stephen) Shirar and Danielle Garland; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Darlene was preceded in death by her mother, Judie A. Garland.
