Virginia M. Barnaby, 88, of Columbus, died Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at 2:45 a.m. at the Columbus Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Barnaby was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, a homemaker and was former co-owner of Barnaby Flowers.
A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at the Garland Brook Mausoleum Chapel with Father Marc Vance officiating.
Entombment will be at Garland Brook Mausoleum.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Virginia was born in Madison, Indiana, December 7, 1920, the daughter of Julius and May Della Ferguson Schmidt.
She married Everett R. Barnaby June 27, 1942. He preceded her in death October 27, 1997.
Survivors include her children Judy M. (Fred D.) Yentz of Columbus, Richard L. (Jeannie) Barnaby of Saint Paul, MN and Jeffery C. (Carol) Barnaby of Santa Rosa, CA; a brother Bud Schmidt of Madison; sisters Edna Perry of Madison, Dorothy (Bott) Schirmer of Hanover, Lillian Ward of Madison and Jean Ferguson of Hanover; grandchildren Fred E. (Hillari) Yentz of Columbus, Cinda (Gabe) Muterspaugh of Indianapolis, Meghan (Colin) Crimmins of Chicago, Kaitlyn Barnaby of Saint Paul, MN, Courtney (Reyna) Barnaby of Las Vegas, NV and Alyssa and Nicky Barnaby and great grandchildren Conner, Tanner, Adler and Izabella Yentz, Liam and Callum Crimmins and Reyna and Presley Barnaby.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers Junior and Jimmy Schmidt and sisters Micki Ellis and Ellis
