Loretta A. Thomas, 72, of Columbus, died Monday, January 17, 2011, at 1:30 p.m. at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Loretta was a homemaker and a member of Westside Community Church and Ruby’s Tuesday Women’s Club.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Westside Community Church, with a dear family friend, Pastor Dennis W. Aud, officiating.
Family and friends may call from 9 a.m. to time of service at the church on Thursday.
A private inurnment service will be conducted at Garland Brook Mausoleum.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Westside Community Church Building Fund, Hospice of South Central Indiana or the Breast Cancer Center.

Loretta was born in Glens Falls, New York, September 2, 1938, the daughter of Harold and Evelena LaCrosse Allen.
She married Eugene C. Thomas December 1, 1956.
Survivors include her husband; children, Douglas E. (LuAnn) Thomas of Columbus and Laurie T. (Jeff) Ison of Vale, NC; a brother, Lester (Lois) Allen of Woodstock, GA; a sister, Esther (John) Donnelly of Hudson Fall, NY; grandchildren, Bryanna Thomas of Columbus, Ryan Thomas and Elizabeth Thomas, both of Bloomington; great-grandchildren, Eden and Rowan; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Kate Dwyer, Pauline Sexton, Doris Daus and Mary Adams; and brothers, Millard and Frank Allen.
