|Glen D. Thompson, 80, of Jonesville Road, died Thursday, September 8, 2011, at 11:20 p.m. at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Glen retired from Meadows Metal Products where he was a welder for 33 years. He was an Army veteran, serving from 1952 to 1954 in Whittier, Alaska.
He loved spending time with his daughters, grandchildren and all of their pets. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, all animals and helping anyone in need.
Born in Johnson County, December 12, 1930, Glen was the son of Kirtus Otto and Josie Childress Thompson.
A celebration of Glenís life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Simmons Winery Gardens (8111 East 450 North, Columbus, IN 47203). Following the celebration family and friends may visit until 4 p.m.

Survivors include his daughters, Karen (Dan) Pinsonneault of Williamsport, PA, and Sherry (Gregory) Johnson of Columbus, his four granddaughters, Meghan Pinsonneault of Los Angeles, CA, Morgan Pinsonneault of Nashville, TN, Brittany Crider of Columbus and Brooke Crider of Bloomington; a brother, Roy Deal of Edinburgh; and a sister, Elvey Thompson of Edinburgh.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Harry, Floyd, Lloyd and Benjamin Thompson.
