Maxine B. Tharp, 75, of Capa Street, died at 5:24 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Tharp was a member of Jonesville Christian Church and worked in food service at Cummins Engine Co. and child care at the Day Care Center.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Barkes, Inlow & Weaver Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. Mitchell Coggin officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and 12:30 p.m. to service time Tuesday. Burial will be at Bethel Baptist Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Mrs. Tharp was born on Jan. 11, 1930, in Hayden, the daughter of Raymond and Esther Hiten Clark. She married James E. Tharp on Sept. 6, 1947.
Survivors include sons, Stephen (Julia) and John (Judy) Tharp, both of Columbus, and Bill Ray Tharp of Glendale, Ariz.; brothers, Everett Clark of Jonesville and Raymond Clark of Phoenix; a sister, Judith Johnson of Greensburg; five grandchildren; six great–grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and five stepgreat–grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband on June 6, 1977.
