Michael R. Basey, 57, of Mooresville, formerly of Columbus, died Sunday, March 5, 2006, in a traffic accident in Johnson County.
Mr. Basey was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of the American Legion and an avid IU basketball fan.
Cremation is planned.

Born in Columbus Jan. 2, 1949, Mr. Basey was the son of Jim and Ruth A. Burns Basey.
He is survived by a son, Ben Basey of Mooresville; a sister, Diana (Richard) Frame of Columbus; and a brother, Don (Karen) Spurgeon of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Basey, and his mother, Ruth A. Pettay.
