Nora L. Bean, 84, of West Red Oak Court died at 2:35 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2006, at Four Seasons Health Care Center.

Mrs. Bean was a nurse and served as a first lieutenant in the Army during World War II. She continued her practice as a nurse for many years after her military service.

She was a 1943 graduate of Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in Fort Wayne, a member of Faith Lutheran Church and a volunteer at Columbus Regional Hospital.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church, 6000 W. Indiana 46, with the Rev. Todd Riordan officiating. Calling will be from 1:30 p.m. until service time Saturday at the church. Entombment will be at Garland Brook Mausoleum.

Memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church Preschool.

Born in New Haven Jan. 4, 1922, Mrs. Bean was the daughter of John and Pauline Decker Korte. She married Herman C. Bean Oct. 26, 1946.

Survivors include a daughter, Anna M. (Wayne) Rust of Seymour; sons, Thomas K. (Kathi) Bean of Tomball, Texas, and John C. (Betsy Garrison) Bean of Fishers; grandchildren, Eric, Sam and Paul Bean, Ben Rust and Bethany Ebener; and a sister, Anna Dammeyer of Fort Wayne.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Aug. 4, 2004; a grandson, Greg Bean; and six brothers.
