| | | Janis E. Alderson, 70, of Daytona Beach, Fla., formerly of Columbus died at 9:56 a.m. Monday, April 16, 2007, in Daytona Beach.
Mrs. Alderson graduated from Columbus High School where she played the violin in the symphony orchestra. She was a former certified nursing assistant at Columbus Health & Rehabilitation Center, a former member of Columbus Moose Lodge and enjoyed reading and solving puzzles.
She will be sadly missed, never forgotten.
The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street. Calling will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Born in Kansas City, Mo., Dec. 3, 1936, Mrs. Alderson was the daughter of George and Ruth Brown Drach. She married Billy L. Alderson Sr., Nov. 27, 1954.
Survivors include sons, William (Greg McCammon) Alderson and Billy (Debra) Alderson Jr., both of Columbus, and Albert (Tom) Alderson of Michigan; daughters, Lisa Jones of Daytona Beach, Fla., Ruth (Abe) Berry of North Carolina and Gina (Tom) Alderson of Hollywood, Fla.; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Aug. 20, 1985; and a son, Marvin Alderson.
