| | | Meredith Allen Petro, 64, of Elizabethtown, died Sunday, July 8, 2012, at his home.
A former truck driver, he enjoyed trucks and driving semi's, fishing, NASCAR, going to races and being with family, especially his grandchildren. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1p.m. Wednesday at Bethel Baptist Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Bartholomew County Veteran's Color Guard.
Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Wednesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bartholomew County Veteran's Color Guard.

Born in Columbus, April 1, 1948, Allen was the son of Meredith M. and Wilma I. Baugh Petro.
Survivors include his daughter, Faye Evans of North Vernon; brothers, David (Traci) Petro and John Petro, both of Columbus; a sister, Beverly (Greg) Howard of Grammer; 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and his fiancée, Ellen D. Jones of Elizabethtown.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
