Lucy McKinney, 93, of Columbus, died at 3:20 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Hickory Creek at Columbus.
A homemaker, Mrs. McKinney was a cook at Bartholomew County Sheriff's Department and did house cleaning.
Mrs. McKinney loved tending to her flowers and garden and she enjoyed spending time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren and doing crafts.
The funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. Charles Kelley officiating.
Family and friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Daugherty Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Born in Warren County, Ohio February 15, 1919, Mrs. McKinney was the daughter of William Preston "Jack" and Fannie Burris Gabbard. She married Dean M. McKinney September 25, 1936. He preceded her in death December 13, 1975.
Survivors include her children, Carolyn (Dave) Weddle of Columbus, Glenn (Wanda) McKinney of Greensburg and Sharon Carter of Westport; 11 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Shumaker and Margaret Jahn both of Columbus and Lillian (William) Petty of Seymour; brothers, Charlie (Betty) Gabbard of Greensburg and Dale Gabbard of Columbus and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. McKinney was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Jimmie Dean McKinney; brothers, Walker, Harm and Robert Gabbard and a sister, Eddie Henderson.
