Dear Judy, Scott & Keri, I am deeply saddened by your family's loss. Ed was a great man, father, coach and neighbor. He was a man of patience, had he not been I would have gone missing at a very early age. I will forever remember the times of banter than took place in your van during USTA trips and around the neighborhood. Whenever I hear 50's music, I will think of Ed. God bless Ed my he rest in Peace.

To Ed's Family: I am a former classmate of Ed's and was very proud to see what a wonderful life he led. He has left a wonderful legacy for all the young people of Jasper to follow. Never give up and always work toward the goals you have set for yourself. I am sure God has him teaching tennis to all those angels he is joining in heaven. My best wishes and prayers to all Ed's family both personal and his tennis family.

Coach took a unique opportunity to coach tennis when it was presented to him and taught leadership, perserverance, work ethic, character, and how to define goals and achieve them. He helped create opportunities for college degrees and tuition, opportunities to meet people from many communities, victories and championships, and an opportunity for those involved to contribute back to the program. He built a program, a community, and more importantly, a FAMILY for tennis in Jasper that is truly a legacy any man would be proud of. In the course of all that, he also gave a 12-year old boy a chance one summer to learn to play a game that would lead to an unforgettable trip to the State Tournament, a Mental Attitude Award, and the opportunity to develop a relationship with the lady that would become his wife and mother of two beautiful girls. Thanks for everything, Coach. We'll miss you. With Deepest Sympathies, Jon Lehmkuhler Danielle, Jessica, and Ava

My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. I have many fond memories of Jasper Hight School and Ed was very much a part of them. I enjoyed knowing him both while I was a teenager and then when I became an adult.
