Lucile “Luci” Williams passed away at 8:30 A.M. Thursday November 29, 2007 at the St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper. She was born at Brazil IN. to: Clem and Anna Orr (Sharp) Browne.She was raised by her uncle and aunt Seph and Jess (Sharp) Inman in Linton IN. After graduating from Indiana State Teacher College (Indiana State University) she taught in the Linton City School system. During WW2 she was a payclerk at the Huntingburg Furniture Co. She married Fielding P. Williams Sr. MD August 8, 1935. He passed away in 1978.

Memberships include: Twentieth Century Literary Club, Historic Jasper, Dubois county Historical Society, Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, charter member of Jasper associate chapter of Tri Kappa, charter member of Dubois County Medical Auxiliary, charter member of Triad Musical society, ex-vice president of the Indiana State Medical societyAuxiliary, life member of Dubois County Humane society, and was active in Jasper Little Theatre (Actors Community Theater) Productions. In November 1958, She was the first woman elected to a political office in Huntingburg, serving four years on the city council. She was a member of the Huntingburg Chapter of the Eastern Star for 30 years.

Surviving: 2 sons William H. “Bill” Williams of Jasper and Fielding P. “Doc” Williams of Chandler IN

8 great grandchildren
Preceded in death besides her husband are 3 brothers-William, John Earl, and Arthur Browne.

There will be no visitation.
Grave side services will be held at a later date.
