Robert O. (Bob) Mathies. age 75 of Jasper, died at 11:36 p.m. Saturday (January 10, 2009) in the Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center in Jasper.
He was born at Dubois, Indiana on May 28, 1933. His parents; Fred and Eleanora (Stemle) Mathies. He married Dorothy Ehrman on September 25, 1954 at St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Robert Mathies retired from Ruxer Ford in Jasper where he worked in sales for 35 years.
He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society and Holy Family Christ Renews his Parish (CRHP) and the St. Anthony Community Club and the St. Anthony Senior Citizens.
His hobbies were restoring old tractors and farm equipment and he was an avid card player.

Preceding him in death is 1 son Kurt Mathies 1 sister, Marilee Lueken and 1 brother Elmer and another sister who died in infancy.
Funeral services for Robert O. Mathies will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday (January 14, 2009) in Holy Family Catholic Church with entombment to follow in Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum in Jasper.
Friends may call from Noon- 8 p.m. Tuesday (January 13,2009) at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
