LaVerne Eckerle age 93 of Jasper passed away at 7:35 A.M. Thursday December 17, 2009 at Scenic Hills Nursing Center at Ferdinand. She was born June 17, 1916 at Washington IN. to: James Demire and Mary (McGrath) Seal
She married Norbert Eckerle of Jasper October 7, 1940. He passed away January 16, 2001.

She was the Bookkeeper at Eckerle Electric Company in Jasper-retired.

Memberships include: St. Joseph Catholic Church, D of I Sodality, and St Ann’s Society.
She was a member of Business and Professional Women’s Association, she was a Eucharistic Minister and Lector at St. Joseph Church.
For many years she cleaned and ironed altar cloths and Priest Albs for St. Joseph Parish.
She was a recipient of the Brute award.

Surviving: 1 son-Thomas Eckerle of Carmel IN..
1 daughter-Mrs. Bill ( Mary Jean) Kelsey of Alameda CA.
1 brother- Earl Seal of Washington IN.
4 Grandchildren
4 Great Grandchildren

Preceded in death besides her husband is 1 son-Donald Eckerle, 1 grandson Vincent Eckerle, 5 brothers-Paul Eugene Seal, Carl, Bob, Joe, and Jim Seal.

Visitation will be held from 1:00-6:00 P.M. Sunday at the Becher & Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. There will be a Rosary at 3:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home by St. Joseph Parish, St. Ann’s Society, and the D of I Sodality.

Funeral service will be held at 9:30 A.M. Monday December 21, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

Memorial contributions may be made to: St. Joseph Catholic Church or favorite charity.
