Mary A. Mendel, age 93 of Jasper died at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday (June 22, 2010) in the Water of Huntingburg.
She was born in Jasper, Indiana on June 8, 1917 to Edward and Louise (Long) Mendel.
Mary did domestic work and had worked for Swift & Company in Jasper for many years.
She is a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Blessed Virgin Sodality and the V.F.W. Auxiliary to Post # 673.

Preceding her in death are 5 brothers, Aloysius, Hilbert, Urban, Charles and Robert Mendel.
Funeral services for Mary Mendel will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday (June 25, 2010) in Holy Family Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. Mary Cemetery in Huntingburg, Indiana.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Thursday (June 24, 2010) at the Becher & Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
Rosary at 3:00 p.m. Thursday by the Sodality of the Blessed Virgin and a Memorial service at 6:30 p.m. by the V.F.W. Auxiliary at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church or to the Water of Huntingburg.
