Kenneth L. Mendel, age 72 of Jasper died at 9:20 a.m. Sunday (September 19, 2010) in Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center in Jasper.
He was born in Ireland, Indiana on May 14, 1938 to Jerome and Marie (Neuhoff) Mendel. He married Susan Beyke on September 24, 1959 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper.
He retired from Kimball International where he worked for 45 years.
He is a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church, Jasper Knight of Columbus.
He was the recipient of the Brute Award of the Diocese of Evansville.
He was an avid sports fan, especially St. Louis Cardinals Baseball, also bowling and woodworking.

Funeral services for Kenneth L. Mendel will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday (September 22, 2010) in Precious Blood Catholic Church with entombment to follow in Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday (September 21, 2010) at the Becher & Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
Memorial contributions may be made to Precious Blood Catholic Church or to the Lymphoma Society.
