Latham - Joyce Hoopes Hewes, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Friday, October 30th, 2009 at the Albany Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Her life was filled with painting, decorating, singing in a church choir, bowling club,
and cooking for her family. She was an avid gardener.
Joyce is survived by her husband Frank Bayer Hewes, of 63 years of Latham, NY, her son David Hoopes Hewes of San Bruno, Ca,
her son Mark Drury Hewes and his wife Susan Fisher Hewes of East Hampton, Ct., and her daughter Amy Hewes Findlay and
her husband Thomas Bennett Findlay of Poughkeepsie, NY.
Joyce is survived by her grandsons Geoffrey Bayer Hewes and his wife Tamsin Zimbone Hewes of Derry, NH and Charles Elwood Hewes of Salem, Ct., and her great grand children Ella Kathryn and Ryan Joseph Hewes of Derry, NH.
Joyce was born Joyce Louise Hoopes to Charles Percival and Florence Steele Hoopes in Toledo, OH on May 24, 1924.
She was predecessed by her brother Warwick Hoopes and her sister Dorothy Hoopes Horahan. Joyce is survived by her
sister Virginia Spaulding of Doylestown, Pa.
Services and interment are private.
