Dorothy Ann (James) Dunham, 80, Savannah, Missouri went to be with her Lord on Sunday, April 26, 2009 in Savannah, Missouri. She had been living at the home of her niece, Jimmy and Kathy Hellerich, in Savannah, Missouri. Dorothy was born April 11, 1929 in Albany, Missouri to Wallace and Mae (Adams) James. Dorothy was married to Henry Dunham. He preceded her in death in 1992. Dorothy and her husband spent most of their life owning and operating several restaurants in the area. These restaurants were The Little Chef, Burger In The Round, Spot Café, Country Kitchen and D&H Dairyland in Elwood, Kansas. They also operated 2 homes for the mentally challenged. Dorothy also was a cook in her later years for several area nursing homes. Her parents; brothers, Edwin, Cecil Lee, J.C., and Bill Gene James; sister, Francis Waugh; and great nephew Stephen W. Maag, also preceded Dorothy in death. Survivors: sisters, Helen Etherton, Boliver, Missouri; Catherine Randklev, Washington State; brother, Frank James, Sr., St. Joseph; nephew, Frank James and wife Sheila, Cosby, Missouri; niece, Kathy Hellerich and husband Jimmy; great nephews, David James; Adam Maag and wife Courtnie; Cody and Jacob Maag; great niece Rebecca James Karguth, all of Savannah; care taker and dear friend, Beverly Wooten, St. Joseph; numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Ms. Dunham has been cremated. To honor Dorothy’s wishes, there is no visitation or service scheduled. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Highland Cemetery, Hamilton, Missouri. Memorial donations to Stephen Maag Memorial Cross Country Scholarship Fund at Postal Community Credit Union, 402 S. 71 Hwy, Savannah, Missouri 64485 or sent to the home of Kathy Hellerich, 601 W. Elk, Savannah, Missouri, 64485. Arrangements have been entrusted to Breit-Hawkins & Gladden Funeral Home, Savannah, Missouri.
