1914 – 2009 Velda M. (Berney) Vogt, 94, Savannah, Missouri, passed from this life with her son and daughter-in-law at her side on Sunday, May 3, 2009 at Shady Lawn Nursing Home, Savannah, Missouri. Velda was born September 29, 1914 in Wolbach, Nebraska to Peter and Bessie (Imus) Berney. She married Kenneth Ender Vogt on September 30, 1931 at Grand Island, Nebraska. He preceded her in death on January 6, 1995. Velda was engaged in farming with her late husband in Nebraska, Iowa, and Missouri. She enjoyed crocheting, crafts, sewing, also traveling with her husband during their retirement of spending winters in Texas and Arizona. Velda was a member of United Methodist Church in Green City, Missouri. Her parents; brothers, Russell, Loyal and Leland Berney; sister, Lola Silk; also preceded Velda in death. Survivors: son, Kenneth Dean Vogt and wife Marian, Savannah, Missouri; brother, Virgil Berney, Grand Island, Nebraska; grandchildren, Kenneth Gregory Vogt and wife, Pilar; Byron Dean Vogt and wife, Grace; great grandchildren, Kenneth Joshua Vogt and Jessica Anne Vogt; several nieces and nephews. Graveside Celebration of Life and Interment: 11:00 AM Saturday, May 9, 2009 at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Green City, Missouri. Family will receive friends 6 to 8 PM Friday, May 8, 2009 at Breit-Hawkins & Gladden Funeral Home, Savannah, Missouri. The family suggests memorials to Green City United Methodist Church or the Andrew County Senior Center. | ||
