1921 – 2009 Venita M. Anderson, 88, Savannah, Missouri passed from this life on Thursday, June 11, 2009 at LaVerna Village Nursing Home, Savannah. She was born in Clinton County, Missouri to Elmer C. and Lysta (Gregory) Simmon. Venita married L. Wayne Anderson in 1942 and he preceded her in death on October 1, 1977. Her parents; brother, Vernon Simmon and a sister, Velma Simmon Snyder also preceded her in death. She retired from the St. Joseph Gas Service Company after 21 years in customer service. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Savannah. Venita enjoyed playing bridge,reading, music, handwork, gardening, Television and sports. She was an active supporter of the Missouri Fraternal Order of Police. Survivors: nieces and their husbands, Karen (Simmon) Paige and Greg, Union Star, Missouri; Sharon (Simmon) Maday and Dick, Colorado Springs, Colorado; nephew, Randy Simmon, China; and several great nieces and nephews. Celebration of Life: 1 PM Monday, June 15, 2009 at Breit-Hawkins & Gladden Funeral Home, Savannah, MO. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Osborn, MO. Public viewing and family receiving hours 12-1 PM Monday. Memorial donations to Hands of Hope Hospice. | ||
