1931 – 2009

Verelle “Peggy” Rose Goin, 78, Amazonia, Missouri passed from this life on Friday, August 14, 2009 at Heartland Hospital, St. Joseph. Peggy was born February 6, 1931 in Melgrove, Missouri to Fred and Alma (Brown) Vaughn. Her father passed in 1934 and Alma remarried and was raised by Luster Sharp and Alma. Peggy had worked at Noma Lites and then was a cook at Bliss Manor. Peggy met the love of her life, Wayne Reynolds, Sr. and has been with him since 1986. He took her traveling to California, Nashville, Utah, Branson and loved travel so much they became snow birds and spent winters in Texas. “It was a gift from God for Wayne and Peggy to be together”. She was of the Baptist faith. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Vaughn, Luster and Alma Sharp; stepbrothers, Sterling and Bob Sharp and a stepsister, Mary Lou Smith. Survivors: Wayne Reynolds, Sr.; daughters, Peggy Tobey, of the home; Carol Gaddie and husband, Tom, Winder, Georgia; and Robyn Taylor, whom she raised since 6 years old, and husband, Clifford, Amazonia, MO; and 8 additional stepchildren; 20 grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Jr. Sharp and wife, Mary, Savannah, MO; Alice Wegenka, Edinburg, MO; Allen Sharp and wife, Judy, Trenton, MO; Roberta Sayer, Gault, MO; Jerry Sharp and wife, Linda, Jefferson City, MO; Woodson Sharp, Trenton, MO; Jimmie Sharp, Lois Jean Bosley and Donnie Sharp, all of California; and several nieces and nephews. Celebration of Life: 1:30 PM Monday, August 17, 2009 at Wesley United Methodist Church, 3409 Ajax Road, St. Joseph, Mo. Interment at Savannah, MO Cemetery. Public viewing and family receiving hours 5-7 PM Sunday at Breit-Hawkins & Gladden Funeral Home, Savannah, MO. Memorial donations to Breast Cancer Research.
