1942 - 2009

Larry “Joe” Schuman, 66, Fillmore, Missouri passed from this life on Friday, September 25, 2009 in his home. He was born October 16, 1942 in Pomona, California the son of Joseph Glen and Margaret Loraine (Welsch) Schuman. Joe married Martie (Shores) on November 15, 1962 in Fillmore. He was an auctioneer and a farmer. Joe was of the Christian faith and was a member of the Fillmore Masonic Lodge. Joe’s life revolved around his family and he enjoyed going to the hunting cabin with his family and friends. After his family, he enjoyed auctioneering, cattle, and deer hunting. Joe was preceded in death by his mother, father, and brother, Steve “Tuff” Schuman. Survivors: his loving wife, Martie Schuman, of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Marsha and Matt Pryor; Becky and Don Grimes, all of Savannah, MO; sons and daughters-in law, David and Karen Schuman, Rosendale, MO; Robbie and Shannon Schuman, Fillmore, MO; brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Janis Schuman, Savannah, MO; sister-in-law Carol Schuman, Oregon, MO, twin sisters and brothers-in-law, Karon and Paul Fansher, Oregon, MO and Sharon and Dennis Sipes, Platte City, MO; 10 grandchildren: Brandy McClintock, Josh Pryor, Megan, Travis, and Courtney Schuman, Hayley, Hannah, and Hunter Grimes, Lane and Tyler Schuman; 1 great granddaughter, Emery McClintock; mother-in-law, Laurella VonKaenel, Savannah, MO; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Carol and Dwayne Bell, Liberty, MO, many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Celebration of Life: 10 AM Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at Breit-Hawkins & Gladden Funeral Home, Savannah, MO. Interment in Fillmore Cemetery. Public viewing after 10 AM Monday. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Monday. The family suggests memorials to Fillmore Christian Church.
