1923 – 2009 Betty Jean (Gorsuch) McCleary, 85, Kansas City, Missouri passed from this life on Thursday, October 8, 2009 at LaVerna Village Nursing Home, Savannah. Betty was born November 5, 1923 in Kansas City, Missouri. She married George G. McCleary, Retired USMC, on November 23, 1941 in Yuma, Arizona. Betty lived a military life with her husband. They were married 64 years. He preceded her in death on April 17, 2006. Betty was a homemaker. She enjoyed needlework, painting and shopping at Wal-Mart. Betty was also preceded in death by her father, Whitney P. Gorsuch; mother, Tyra (Nelson) Pittman; stepfather, Troy E. Pittman; and grandson, Richard Badillo. Survivors: children, Rothann Badillo and husband, Richard, Oceanside, California; Michael Cormican and wife, Louise, Covina, California; Georjeana Armagost; Gerald R. McCleary and wife, Leslie, all of Savannah, Missouri; Terry McCleary and wife, Emma; Morgan City, Louisiana; 24 grandchildren. Mrs. McCleary has been cremated. Buster joined her in the journey. There is no visitation scheduled. A private graveside service will be at 10 AM Monday, October 12, 2009 at Savannah, Missouri Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to LaVerna Village Nursing Home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Breit-Hawkins & Gladden Funeral Home, Savannah, Missouri. | ||
